ORIGIN
The two areas of mission that are central to the Spirit-filled VSDB are: Evangelization and Catechesis, carried out in a specific way through family visits and village touring. We give special attention to exercising the gift of preaching the Word of God whenever and wherever occasion is provided.
We seek to bring about that kingdom of Justice and Peace which Our Lady sang about in her Canticle. We take seriously the call to go and reach out to the poor and needy. Like Mary we experience God in our lives and people see in us the presence of God, who is loving, compassionate, understanding and forgiving.
We offer qualitative Education through formal and non-formal means of education to eradicate illiteracy, to prevent drop outs and to make the poorest of the poor have access to learning.
We work out for total literacy programs by means of regular day schools, morning school, and non-formal education. We encourage students to perform well in their academic sessions through school counselling and other motivational talks offered at school.
Touring the villages, staying there for days, and visiting the families are distinguishing marks of the VSDB. The Congregation is specifically destined to work among the poor, the young, in rural and neglected urban areas. The presence of the Sisters in these areas is pre-eminently for uplifting, evangelization, catechesis, teaching and preaching.
Through our missions we the VSDB seek to uplift the people physically, materially and spiritually. We serve the people who are in need of help like the sick, the poor and the neglected ones in rural and urban areas.
Counselling
We counsel those who are in troubles and face challenges in living life meaningfully and joyously. We provide counselling at homes, at works, at schools and at different areas. We also facilitate counselling for different groups of people, young, old, families and individuals according to their needs.
We run Health Centers and Wellness Centers in villages, to provide basic and affordable health care, to the sick and suffering people mostly in far flung areas. Through these centers many lives were saved. We also encourage local home remedies and alternative treatment such as acupressure, sujok, cupping, etc . We prepare young people for responsible parenthood and family up-building.
