STAGES OF FORMATION
The scheme for religious training of the members embraces its human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral missionary aspects. These aspects must be aptly fitted together to ensure that the members are prepared for the needs of our time.Aspirantate
The Aspirantate, is the first stage in the course of formation to the consecrated life in the Congregation. It will normally last one year, under the guidance of qualified Formators.
Aspirants should be conscious of their Christian vocation to holiness and should have the right intention of attaining their goal by living the evangelical counsels under the form of life proper to the Congregation.Pre-Novitiate
The Pre-Novitiate is a period in which the candidate is helped to reach that level of human and spiritual maturity, which will enable her to respond to the call of God by a deliberate and responsible choice. The Pre-novitiate course, will normally las six months.
The Novitiate is the period of initiation into the consecrated life of the member of the Congregation. This lasts for a period of two years. Through the study of the Constitutions and Regulations, the novices will come to know the full meaning and depth of consecrated life, especially in its Biblical, theological, liturgical, historical, ecclesial and Salesian aspects, as well the manner in which it is to be lived in the Congregation.
The aim of the Juniorate is to deepen still more the religious, doctrinal, apostolic and professional formation of the young professed. During the six years of temporary vows, formation is to be systematic, adapted to the capacity of the sisters, spiritual and apostolic, both doctrinal and practical. Suitable ecclesiastical and civil degrees are to be obtained as opportunity offers.
